ALOHA! The
word "batik" is Indonesian in origin, even if the concept was known by Egyptians
and Indians. It is known to be more than a millenium old, and there are evidences
that cloth decorated through some form of resist technique was in use in the early
centuries AD in several West African, Middle-Eastern and Asian communities. Indonesian
Batik has a worldwide recognition. These
Bali Batik pareos are original design and made of high quality rayon. The designs
are universal symbols with a corresponding affirmation. Each of the five designs
come in seven rich colors. They can be worn as a sarong, a sun-dress, shawl or
scarf and can be used as a wall hanging, a bed cover or beach cloth. Guys like
the darker colors and use them as an after-shower wrap. I
designed these for the Louise Hay - I CAN DO IT - Conference and I have a few
left over. |
